Jessica Dowling Physiotherapist

In 2010 Jess moved from Darwin to the Sunshine State to study a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at James Cook University. The day after graduation Jess flew to Japan to work as a physiotherapist in the ski fields in Niseko. It was here she gained vast experience in the treatment of acute sporting injuries.

After returning to Australia, and settling in Cairns, Jess worked in a large private practice and had the opportunity to work alongside experienced physiotherapists, complete additional qualifications, and develop an interest in the treatment of jaw, neck, headache, and vertigo conditions.

Jess moved to Brisbane in 2016 to pursue her interest in jaw, neck, headache, and vertigo conditions and worked in a leading Brisbane headache and jaw clinic for over 5 years. In those 5 years, Jess completed Level 1 & 2 Watson Headache® certification, various TMJ training courses, and vestibular rehabilitation training. Jess also has had the opportunity to present to various groups including; dental clinics, GP’s, Griffith University 3rd and 4th-year physiotherapy students. Passionate about her patients and profession, Jess achieved her career ambition in 2021 opening the Queensland TMJ & Headache Centre. At the Queensland TMJ & Headache Centre, her mission is to create a better everyday life for those suffering from jaw, neck, and headache conditions.

Jess frequently works with Maxillofacial Surgeons, Endodontists, Prosthodontists, Dentists, GP’s, and Neurologists to deliver the best results for her patients. She has a strong emphasis on patient education to ensure every patient has a strong understanding of their condition and is empowered with self-management strategies. She understands that pain is multi-factorial and tailors each patient with their own unique set of skills to best help them achieve their goals.

Outside of work Jess enjoys being outdoors and is often found on her road bike, running, or spending time with her friends.
