At Queensland TMJ & Headache Centre we are expert physiotherapists in the treatment of headaches, migraines, neck, jaw, vertigo, and tinnitus-related conditions. We exclusively treat this part of the body and understand the complexity of the joint/s, and the various mechanical, environmental and social factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Our treatment is aimed at helping to relieve your current symptoms and treat the underlying cause of your condition.
What to expect in your physiotherapy consultation?
Your initial consult will typically go for an hour and include:
- An in-depth discussion about your symptoms
- Comprehensive assessment
- A full individualised diagnosis and treatment
Treatment will typically include a variety of modalities including;
- TMJ joint mobilisations
- Controlled spinal joint mobilisations (no cracking occurs)
- Release of muscles
- Dry needling
- Education
- Motor relearning
- Muscle strengthening
- Home exercise program
Supplementary to our hands on treatment and exercise based program we often coordinate treatment with additional health professionals including;
- GP
- Regular or specialist dentist
- Neurologist
- Endodontist
- Prosthodontist
